We’ve always loved comics. 11 years ago, Dusk Wave Arts began with the humble goal of promoting conversations about neurodivergence and finding your place in the world through comics. We started with The Glove and Tim’s adventures. Come a few more titles, some video games (Namely BARHEIM and Stuck in the Present-launching this month on Steam!!), we’re here now with our very own App focusing on the heart of our mission: helping neurodivergent folk enjoy comics by making it accessible and enjoyable. We started with a website where classic titles like The Glove, Criminal King, and the recently launched Jewel Knights were housed.

We’ve grown a lot over the years. With the help of a talented crew, we’ve successfully brought the Comics Immersion from your PC to your mobile device!

That’s how Comics Immersion was born. It’s an app we’ve built for people who want to go further with every flip of the page. With Comics Immersion, you can step deeper into the worlds of your favorite heroes: feel what they feel, hear the action yourself.  And now that the app has officially launched in the Apple App Store, you can start exploring it too!

What you’ll find in the Comics Immersion App:

  • A smooth reading experience through vertical scrolling that makes each panel feel natural to follow

  • A space to discover new creators and stories from around the world

  • Convenient reading features designed by comic fans who care: webcomics with effective sound design, music, and dialog!

But more than features, Comics Immersion grew out of an advocacy. As an art studio, we want to stay rooted in our mission to support neurodivergent readers, and we wanted to make comics more accessible to them too. One of the ways we’re doing this is by adding audio components to webcomics, giving people the choice to read, listen, or do both. We hope this makes the experience more inclusive and welcoming.

The Comics Immersion app is not just about reading. It’s about giving more people the chance to connect with stories, wherever they are and however they want to experience them. We’re also looking for authors and creators who want to be part of this journey! If you’re an artist or writer with a story to tell, we’d love to explore ways to bring your work into the app and share it with more people.

We’re very happy about this milestone in Dusk Wave Arts. We’re proud of Comics Immersion because it’s more than just app launch for us. It grew out of our love for comics, a lot of careful thought about how people read and experience stories, and a real desire to make those stories easier to enjoy for neurodivergent communities. It’s where our passion for art and storytelling meets our goal of making the space more open and welcoming, and we’re excited to finally share it with both readers and creators.

We’re so excited to finally share Comics Immersion with you! Download it on the App Store today and see what it’s all about right here.
